A Wigan Warriors victory parade is set to take place tonight, after the club lifted the Challenge Cup trophy for the 21st time yesterday.

The rugby league side beat rivals Warrington Wolves at Wembley with a memorable score line of 18-8.

Later, fans are invited to the Robin Park Arena to celebrate the famous win with the players and staff,

Doors are set to open at 5.00pm for the ticketed event, with the team expected to return home at approximately 6.30pm.

Speaking post-match, on Wigan Warriors page, head coach Matt Peet said: “I’m proud of the players for their commitment.

"It was never going to be the perfect game but we speak a lot as a group about not chasing perfection and instead trusting one another.

"When you watch them play there were times in the game when things went against them but as group they raised to it and almost seemed to enjoy it – that is a strength of theirs.”
