United fans 'kicking off' about season tickets

Many miss the deadline

United are coming under fire after season ticket confusion left many life-long fans without their seat for next season.

Instead they're being moved to another part of the stadium because they didn't renew in time.

Some supporters have contacted us to say they didn't receive any communication off the club to say the date had been brought forward.

Kevin Rowlands has been going to Old Trafford for over 20 years where he's sat in the same seat next to his dad. He said,

"We didn't receive any postal notification. I found out on Friday (5th May) that that was the deadline to renew and I tried to contact the club but was queuing for over two hours. When I did get through on Saturday morning it turned out they had sold my ticket on already. When I spoke to the club I was told it was my own fault.

"As you might imagine after 23 years sat in the same seat from being a teenager with my father to now in my early 40s I was quite gutted and the sense that the club really didn't want to help. We have now been offered seats but they are now in the top Tier, which is not ideal for my dad with his age and condition.

"It's not just a seat. It holds history and memories for me. We know the people sat around us. It's a real sense of community. Ultimately it's left myself and my dad feeling that the fans don't matter."

We have contacted United for a comment. We're told the club did attempt to contact all season ticket holders via text, email and through the post.
