Firefighters rescue two people from derelict building blaze in Old Trafford
Crews rushed to the scene on Warwick Road late last night
Two people have been rescued from a fire at a derelict building in Old Trafford.
Crews were called to a commercial building on Warwick Road at around 11:20pm last night, where they spent around three-and-a-half hours extinguishing the flames.
Eight fire engines were sent to the scene - from Trafford, Salford and Manchester.
Both people who were brought to safety were not believed to have been injured.
Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service is now investigating the incident.
A spokesperson from the service said: “At around 11.20pm on Thursday, September 7, fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a commercial building on Warwick Road, Old Trafford. Eight fire engines from stations in Trafford, Salford and Manchester were quickly mobilised to the incident.

"Firefighters rescued two people from the building - there were no injuries reported, but both people were checked at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service as a precaution. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway. GMFRS crews were in attendance for about three and a half hours.”
