A toddler's had a miraculous escape after she fell out of a second floor flat window in Levenshulme only to land on a sofa which had been abandoned in the garden.
Police say a 999 call was made at about 4.38pm yesterday (Tuesday 14th February 2017) from a neighbour who saw the girl fall into the garden.
It's believed the 23-month-old managed to get out of the window which had a damaged latch.
The toddler landed on an old sofa which had been abandoned in the garden beneath the window.
A police statement says:
"She was taken to hospital to be checked but apart from a bump on the head she was apparently otherwise unharmed. Officers report her running around the hospital as if nothing had happened. The toddler was released at 9pm having been given the all clear by meical staff."
It goes on to say:
"Given the circumstances, a detective-led review of safeguarding took place, but initial thoughts are that this was an accident with a miraculous ending."
