Thousands raised for charity to help bereaved families in memory of little Lacey
Lacey Warburton, from Stalybridge, died suddenly while on a family camping trip in August
The parents of Lacey Warburton, who died suddenly while on a family camping trip this summer, have said they're 'overwhelmed' by support after raising tens of thousands of pounds with just one event.
Last month, we told you how Jodie and Ray, Lacey's mum and dad, wanted to set up a charity in her name that would offer recently bereaved parents a chance of respite.
Now, their first event to raise money for 'Love of Lacey' has raised more than £10,000.
The charity ball, held at Ashton Masonic Hall, included performances from Macey Evans, Alex Lees and Lee Ashley.
The family are now a third of the way towards their £30,000 target to set up the charity.
They want to use the funds to pay for a static caravan, which would be used as an 'escape place' for parents mourning the loss of a child.
Jodie told us she doesn't want anyone else to have to endure the pain she did, of losing her only daughter.
They still don't know how Lacey died and further tests are being carried out by medical experts
