Thousands raised for boy killed in Rochdale dog attack
His family are using the money to give him "the send-off he deserves"
Thousands of pounds have been raised to support the family of a boy who died in a dog attack in Rochdale.
The tragedy occurred last month when three-year-old Daniel Twigg died outside his home in Milnrow.
Since then the community has come together to raise nearly three thousand pounds to support Daniel's family.
She told us:
"He was a big character. You couldn't shove him in a little box. He lived his life at 100 miles per hour.
"He had absolutely no fear and lived each day as it came. He was very bright, intelligent, and sweet.
"He was just a pleasure to be around, your typical kind of bold, very sweet boy with a beautiful smile.
"It's been very hard to deal with. Dealing with the sudden death of a three-year-old is difficult but under these circumstances, it's difficult to comprehend.
"I think a lot of us have still not processed it.
"We just want the best send-off you can possibly give to a three-year-old, something that people will always remember.
"We want somewhere for his parents and family members to remember him so he doesn't go into a distant memory.
"He'll always be remembered as the beautiful little boy he was."
Thanking those who have already donated, Louise said:
"It gives you a lot of faith back in humanity, that people do care and are out there to help.
The family would just like to say a massive, massive thank you. All the help is much appreciated and from our heart, we're very grateful."
