The survey shows that instead of seeking medical advice from a professional, people are almost as likely to the use the internet and websites like Google over contacting their GP.
Health experts have warned, however, that people shouldn’t trust the information they find online because there isn’t any evidence to back it up and people often don't know what to search for.
