Teenager injured in Tameside school balcony fall
18-year-old rushed to hospital
A teenager's been rushed to hospital after falling from a Balcony at a school in Tameside.
Paramedics were called to New Charter Academy in Ashton-under-Lyne at about 8.10am this morning (Wednesday 10th May 2017).
Police were also later called.
GMP have issued us a statement to say:
Police were called at around 9.10am on Wednesday 10 May 2017 to reports of a concern for the welfare of an 18-year-old man.
A man has fallen from a balcony on Broadoak Road, Ashton-under-Lyne and has been taken to hospital.
All we know at the moment is the boy is 18-year-old and has suffered serious injuries.
The school say there's no risk to pupils and it is open as normal.
Principle Jenny Langley went on to sat "Our thoughts are with the pupil and the family and we’re doing everything we can to support them along with staff and pupils."
