Sky high passenger numbers at Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport records its busiest year ever for passengers.
Manchester Airport flew more passengers than ever before in its 78 year history during the last financial year, 2015/16.
23.5m people passed through the terminals, that is a 5.4% increase year-on-year.
Traffic numbers for March 2016 were 11% higher than March 2015, with 1.74m people jetting off on holiday and on business.
The top five popular international routes last month were: Dubai, Dublin,ï€ Amsterdam,ï€ Tenerife and Alicante
Aircraft departures and arrivals were also up last month with 13,736 planes taking off and landing at Manchester and new routes added to the portfolio include; Los Angeles - starts May 2016, Boston - starts May 2016, Aruba - starts May 2016, Beijing - starts June 2016, Phuket - starts November 201 Tobago - starts November 2016, Mauritius - starts November 2016 and San Francisco - starts summer 2017.
