Police and the family of missing mum of two Marie Scott have issued another desperate appeal for information, six months after she disappeared.

Marie, from Hale, was last seen on December 18th in Bury.

Her son, Stuart, said:

"We're absolutely devastated, we're just heartbroken, we can't move on and we're just missing mum so much. We love her so much and it's just been an awful time, the whole family's destroyed.

"Mum, just, please come back. Please let us know that you're safe. We miss you so much and we just want you back in our lives."

Her husband, Jim, who had to mark their 41st wedding anniversary without her, said:

"We just have to keep believing that you're safe and well and keep trusting, but we really need you to get in touch with us Marie and let us know that you're safe so that we can rebuild out lives and move on as a family. Please, Marie, get in touch with us."

She was spotted on CCTV boarding a 12.30pm tram at Altrincham metrolink station to Deansgate where she got off at around 12.45pm.

From there she made her way along Deansgate to outside Blacks where she spoke to a couple at approximately 1pm, before walking around the Castlefield area.

Marie - who turned 58 on Boxing Day - then boarded a tram at Deansgate at 2.18pm to Victoria Station where she got into a black cab to Bury.

The taxi dropped her off in the area of The Rock shopping centre where she ten walked along Rochdale Road towards Openshaw Park.

The last known sighting of Marie, which was captured on CCTV was outside It's a Baby on Rochdale Road at the junction with Heywood Street at 3.15pm, Monday 18th December 2017.

Detective Inspector Simon Akker, from Stretford CID, said: “Sadly it has been six months now since Marie left her home in Hale and despite extensive work by officers we have been unable to find her so far.

“I can’t imagine the pain family are going through and how worried they must be. Despite all of this they have shown immense courage and strength and continue to do everything they can to help us find Marie.

“Marie is clearly so loved and she has a beautiful family waiting for her to return.

“I implore residents, taxi drivers, shop owners and anyone who may have been in any of the locations mentioned to please think back. Did you see Marie? Do you recognise her? Or did you see someone who looks familiar? What might seem trivial to you could be the key to reuniting this family.”

Anyone with information about Marie’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101 quoting MP/17/0111851. Reports can also be made anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
