Rochdale stab victim named

A woman who died after being stabbed in Rochdale has been named.

Shortly before 11.30pm on Monday 28 November 2016, police were called to Middle Hill, Syke, to reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found a woman with serious neck injuries. She was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

The woman has been formally identified as 23-year-old Natasha Wild.

Paying tribute to her, Natasha’s mother said: “Natasha was kind-hearted and clever and was working towards her final year in University.

“This is a tragic waste of life of a lovely and beautiful daughter.”

Natasha’s sister, added: “My sister had a heart of gold.”

A 31-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jones of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This is a horrendous incident that has resulted in a young woman having her life taken away from her and a family heartbroken.

“We have a man in custody but our investigation is still very much in the early stages so I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch with us.

“Natasha’s family are receiving specialist support from a team of officers and my thoughts are with them during these tragic circumstances.”
