Residents Hit Back At Students' Late Night Parties

Published 24th Sep 2015

There's been calls for a crackdown on noisy neighbours in Manchester's student community.

Residents in parts of Withington and Fallowfield say they're fed up with being kept awake by late night parties from student houses.

Manchester council recently visited students in some of the most troublesome areas to warn against making too much noise.

The officers concentrated on 10 streets in Fallowfield which have seen 270 noise complaints from residents over the last three years.

Over the last week, council officers alongside GMP officers and university staff have been knocking on doors of student houses warning occupants that action will be taken against anyone who causes problems.
