Police release image of woman wanted for Manchester stiletto attack

Woman left with permanent scar following attack

Greater Manchester Police have released a CCTV image after a woman was attacked with a stiletto heel.

At about 2.20am on Saturday 16th April 2016 a 21-year-old woman was with friends at Yates Wine Lodge on Portland Street in Manchester city centre when an altercation broke out on the dancefloor of the bar. During the assault, the victim was stuck on the head by the heel of a stiletto worn by the woman. The victim was taken to hospital where she was treated for a head injury, which has left her with a permanent scar to her forehead.

This woman is described as white, in her mid-twenties in, 5ft-5ft 2”in, with blonde shoulder-length hair.

Police have launched an investigation and have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to speak to in connection with the attack.

Detective Constable Tom Munnery of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “This was a vicious attack and there may have been a lot of people around the area at the time of the assault. If you saw what happened, you may have information that could help us track down the person that did this.

“We have released an image of a woman we want to speak to in connection with this attack and if anyone recognises her I would urge them to contact police.”
