Police are searching for a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in Manchester.

At around 12.50am on Sunday 3 June a woman was walking along Red Bank in Manchester when she was followed and sexually assaulted.

Police investigating the incident have now released CCTV footage in the hope that members of the public may be able to help them.

Detective Constable Andrew McCaffrey from GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “The CCTV is not very clear, but we can see the man stalk his victim before the attack.

“This was a terrifying assault on a young woman as she walked home from the city centre.

“The man is seen to follow her for some time, and also hide from passing vehicles.

“We are releasing this footage in the hope that someone will have seen the man acting suspiciously, or might know who he is.
