Police launch investigation after a man's body found in Salford canal

Emergency services were called early this morning following reports of a body being found.

Police have been called to Salford Quays following reports a body was in the canal.

Officers attended and the body of a man was found.

Police are now investigating the circumstances of the man’s death.

Officers from GMP’s Underwater Search Unit are on the scene.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are assisting the police with their operation.
