Police hunting rapist release CCTV

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a rape in Manchester city centre. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was on a night out in Manchester city centre, but became separated from her friends. She walked beneath a railway arch, of which the location is unknown, and was raped. Police have launched an investigation and have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident. Detective Inspector Dave Moores of GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit said: “People will be understandably concerned and I assure you that we have dedicated detectives working to catch the offender. If you recognise the man in the CCTV image, please get in touch with police as a matter of urgency.

“We are offering the woman specialist support at this difficult time.

“Help and support will always be there for people who come forward and report sexual offences.”
