Two teenage boys have been left seriously injured after a suspected hit-and-run in Denton over the weekend.
Officers were called out to Windmill Lane in Ashton just before 1.55pm on the 16th February to reports of a collision between a Volkswagen Sharan and two pedestrians.
When they got there, they found a 13 year old and a 17 year old, both with serious leg injuries.
They were rushed to hospital where they remain for treatment.
The driver fled the scene in the vehicle, which is believed to have been stolen. It was found abandoned in Haughton Green on Sunday evening.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Andrew Sandiford, of GMP's Tameside district, said:
Two teenage boys have been left with significant leg injuries in this horrendous incident.
“I know this news may be alarming but we believe this is an isolated incident and not linked to the horrendous events on Friday in which a man was struck by his own stolen car in Ashton.
“We are following several lines of enquiry to trace those responsible and we are now appealing for the public’s help.
“If you saw what happened or if you have information about the blue VW Sharan, or who was driving it, please call us on 0161 856 9256.”
