Police have seized 620 cannabis plants after they raided a house in Rochdale Town Centre.

Officers attended an address on Monday morning, 6th March 2017, just off Yorkshire Street on the outskirts of the town centre. Police say the cannabis factory had plants at various stages of growth and was kitted out with sophisticated equipment installed over a number of floors, spanning through several rooms.

All plants have been removed, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Daniel Shirazi said, “We welcome any information members of the public can give us. If anyone has any information relating to this discovery or has any suspicions about cannabis plants being grown in their neighbourhood, please report this to the police so that we can act on the information. There are a number of signs that you can look out for that indicate a cannabis factory is operating. They include - no windows open and condensation building up, windows blacked out or curtains drawn at all times, and lights being operated by a timer switch. There may also be humming noises and strange pungent smells coming from the property. You may also see intermittent visits from the occupants and large amounts of industrial electrical equipment being brought to the property. If you have information about drug use or manufacture you can report it via 101 or anonymously via crimestoppers on 0800 111 555”
