Police arrest man on suspicion of possession of a firearm in Salford
It follows reports of a disturbance in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, 6 August)
A man's been arrested following a disturbance in Salford in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, 6 August).
Police were called to Nursery Street at around 3 o'clock.
Officers have detained a 38 year old on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The area is still cordoned off with officers will present.
Greater Manchester Police released a statement:
'Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Nursery Street in Salford at around 3am this morning.
'The scene is subject to a specialist search and a 38-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He was taken into police custody.
