Police are continuing to appeal for information as part of an attempted murder investigation after a man was shot in Salford.

Police believe the victim, a man in his 20s, had been attending a club night at Kingston Mill, Cobden Street, Salford on Friday evening November 23 before he was later shot outside the venue three times.

He was taken to hospital at around 5.30am on Saturday November 24 and remains in a stable condition with gunshot wounds which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forwarded.

Detective Inspector Gareth Jenkins of GMP’s Salford Division said: “We believe there still may be potential witnesses to this crime who can help officers with their investigations.

“Did you attend the club night between Friday night and Saturday morning, or were in the area at the time?

“Even the smallest piece of information can be enough to open new lines of enquiry and allow police to solve crimes like this.

“This shooting caused serious injury to a young man. The outcome could have been significantly worse, but thankfully he is making good progress in his recovery.

“I want to stress that this is believed to be a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider community.

“There continues to be a visible police presence in the vicinity of the shooting. We encourage members of the public to approach officers with any concerns they may have.”
