Greater Manchester Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at a post office in Tameside.

Two men forced their way into the Haughton Green shop at around 03:10 on Saturday 7th July 2018 and stole money from the cash machine. They used a fire extinguisher to obscure CCTV and left in a grey Mazda RX8 heading towards Denton.

PC Christopher Oldham from GMP Tameside said:

"I appreciate that this incident happened in the middle of the night, but I am appealing to any witnesses who may know something that can assist our enquiries.

“The offenders stole a significant amount of money, as well as causing substantial damage to the Post Office itself and we are doing everything we can to find the thieves.

“I would urge members of the public with any information to get in touch with police so we can find the people responsible."
