Murdered Officer's Father to Advise the Government

Published 8th Dec 2015

The father of one of the Greater Manchester police officers murdered by Dale Cregan in Tameside has been asked by the Government to help represent victims in Parliament.

PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes were shot dead as they answered a routine call out in Hattersley in September 2012.

32-year-old Cregan is currently serving a whole life term for their murders.

Nicola's dad Bryn has now been asked to sit on the 'Victims Advisory Panel' in Parliament to help shape justice in the future.

LISTEN: Bryn gives his reaction to our Chief Reporter Michelle Livesey:

Bryn has since set up a charity in his daughter's name - the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to help children effected by murder or manslaughter.
