A peition's underway for bag checks and metal detectors to be made mandatory to prevent a repeat of the Manchester Arena attack.

It's been set up by the mum of Martyn Hett who was among the 22 killed in the explosion.

On the petition, Figen writes "My son Martyn Hett was one of the 22 people murdered in May 2017 at the Manchester Arena whilst attending a concert.

"I wrongly assumed that since this tragedy event organisers have significantly increased security checks.

"I was at a concert last week and nobody checked tickets or bags."

Speaking to Hits Radio, Figen said a lack of security at a recent concert she attended sparked her decision to launch the petition.

She believes ticket buyers have the right to safe entertainment - and believes a national standard should be implemented across all big venues.
