A mum who lost her son launches charity to help North West families coping with terminal illness go on holiday

A mum's fighting to give families of terminally ill children the chance to relax - by sending them away on holiday.

Tina Johnstone lost her son to cystic fibrosis when he was 11.

She says in the years before his death, his sister Isabelle suffered because they weren't able to do anything as a family.

She's now set up the Jack Johnstone Foundation - they pay for families from the North West dealing with terminal illness to get away together:

“The fun part was missing in our life and in Isabelle’s life, so that’s why we set our foundation up to be able to give children just a small opportunity to be normal.

“It’s an experience I wouldn’t want to wish on any family member, but it doesn’t just affect the parents, it affects the siblings as well, which is why part of our package is also sending siblings away on holiday who have been affected by bereavement.

“Because they are quite often, the forgotten people.
