A motorcyclist has died in a crash which shut the M60 for several hours on Sunday night (12 October).

The collision, which involved three cars and a motorbike, happened on the clockwise carriageway between J15 (M61) and J16 (Swinton) at around 18:30BST.

Motorists were forced to divert off the motorway as a closure remained in place into the early hours of Monday morning (13 October).

Police confirmed the drivers of two of the three cars involved had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The rider of the bike was confirmed as a man in his 60s.

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for any witnesses and want to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage.
