Police name man who died in Moss Side stabbing
20-year-old Javell Morgan was from West Yorkshire
A man who died in a stabbing, previously thought to have been a shooting, in the Moss Side area of Manchester, has been named as 20-year-old Javell Morgan.
Greater Manchester Police said he was from West Yorkshire, and post-mortem results have revealed he died of stab wounds.
Detectives initially believed he had been the victim of a shooting.
Mr. Morgan died in hospital after being found in Claremont Road in the early hours of Monday morning, after a carnival in Alexandra Park.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson, from Greater Manchester Police, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Javell Morgan, as they try to process the devastating death of their loved one. They have requested privacy at this time.
A murder inquiry remains underway and there's an appeal for anyone with information to contact police.
