Horse communities across Greater Manchester are working together to keep livestock safe.

Land owners are offering empty fields and stables to people whose yards are affected by the blaze above Tameside.

John Shaw owns an equestrian centre in the Urmston area of Trafford and has told us:

“It's very stressful at the best of times trying to keep livestock but when nature throws these things at us it can be quite testing.

"We have over 100 stables on site so we're happy to take horses in - it's a free of charge offer, if you're stuck and you're around the fire.

"We've had five people send enquiries and we've got a couple on the way ... nature is a funny thing but this won't last forever".
