A memorial service has been held to mark the ten-year anniversary of the day two GMP officers were killed whilst on duty.
In 2012, PC Nicola Huges and PC Fiona Bone were attending a report of a burglary in Hattersley when they were attacked.
This morning the two officers were remembered at a service at the Nicola and Fiona memorial garden at Hyde Police Station.
Family and friends, officers, colleagues, MPs, councillors and members of the local community gathered to pay their respects to the officers.
A poem was read out by GMP’s Tameside District Commander, Chief Superintendent Phil Davies before a minute’s silence was held at 10:53am.
Wreaths were then placed by the families and Chief Superintendent Phil Davies on behalf of GMP.
