Manhunt launched after four men threaten a woman with a machete, before stealing her car
The victim was targeted on her driveway in Cheadle Hulme on Wednesday morning
Police are appealing for information about an armed robbery in Cheadle Hulme.
Shortly after 1.30am on Wednesday 8 August 2018, a woman was threatened with a knife and had her car stolen by a group of men on Lawnhurst Close.
The woman was returning home when four men approached her on the driveway of her home. As she got out of her car, one of the offenders held a machete to her throat and demanded that she hand over the keys.
The men then made off in two dark-coloured vehicles and the victim’s car, which is a convertible Audi A3 with a red soft top roof.
One of the offenders is described as black, of skinny build, around 5ft 8in, wearing dark clothes, gloves and a balaclava.
The man who was armed with the machete is also of skinny build, wearing dark clothes, gloves and a balaclava.
Detective Sergeant Lisa McGrane, of GMP’s Stockport borough, said: “Although the woman was not physically injured, she has understandably been left shaken by what happened.
“Nobody should be subject to such a terrifying ordeal right outside their own home and we are determined to find the people responsible for this.
“I am appealing to members of the public to please contact police with any information you might have about this incident.
