People across Greater Manchester are being urged to do their bit to help tackle homelessness.

A charity's urging us to leave unwanted but good quality clothes in pop-up wardrobes in the Arndale Centre so they can be sold on and the money can be used to help rough sleepers.

Rowetta, from the Happy Mondays, is supporting the appeal. She said:

“With many wardrobes fit to burst following the Christmas and Boxing Day sales, it’s a great time of year to think about those that are less fortunate.

"Mancunians are renowned for pulling together as a community to help each other and I’m really pleased to be involved in The Empty Shop.

"Together with Musicians Against Homelessness, I hope that we can help to raise much-needed funds and awareness for Mustard Tree and Goodstock by vInspired.”

The Empty Shop donation points will take pre-loved clothing donations from Friday 20 January- Sunday 29 January 2017.
