A new world record could be set in Manchester tomorrow night (Friday 20th July) for the most people dressed as Harry Potter in one place.
So far more than 800 people have signed up for the attempt at The Printworks and for every person who turns out - £1 will be donated to our charity Cash For Kids.
Carl Whitely is the event organiser with some specific guidelines for anyone who wants to get involved: "You have to come as Harry Potter, you can't come as any other character. You need a pair of glasses, a fake scar on your forehead, a wand and a Hogwarts Uniform. We need 997 people to break the record and we're on track to do it.
"As people are waiting for the record attempt to start there will be lots going on - some of the cast are coming along to keep people entertained.
"There's a lot of excitement ahead of this - people who've never met are making groups on Facebook, making friends and planning what they're going to wear. People are so enthusiastic and it's going to be so exciting."
The record attempt kicks off a weekend of events in Manchester for "DraigCon" – the biggest independent Harry Potter fan convention in Europe.
Carl told us why he chose to support Cash for Kids: ""I think it's a fantastic charity - it's local, and with Harry Potter being about kids I think it's important to raise awareness for charities like this - it was a simple choice."
Registration for the event will be open from 5.30pm at The Printworks and closes at 6.25pm.
At 6.30pm an alarm will sound to signal the start of the attempt. For the following 5 minutes all participants MUST be wearing the costume and NOT remove any article.
After 5 minutes another loud sound will be made signalling the end of the record attempt.
To be part of the event you MUST order a free ticket so you can be counted by the official adjudicators.
Participants under 16 years old need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
