'Malicious hoax threats' have been made towards schools across Greater Manchester again.

It's the latest in a series of similar incidents.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes, said:

“We are aware of a number of malicious hoax threats made towards schools across Greater Manchester.

“This is part of a national problem and we believe these calls to be hoax and similar to recent reports of the same nature.

“We do not believe there to be any threat to our communities and would like to thank schools for remaining vigilant.

“I would urge them to report anything suspicious and stress that we’ll continue to work closely with them and local authorities."
