David Wyeth from Chorlton was struggling to finish the race when a Good Samaritan stopped to help him yesterday afternoon.
He was raising money for Isabel Hospice in memory of his uncle saying 'they took fantastic care of Alan in his final weeks'.
He's now raised seven times his target.
