Prime minister claimed English lessons could tackle extremism.
Members of Manchester’s Muslim community have criticised David Cameron for suggesting teaching Muslim women English could help prevent radicalisation.
The Prime Minister made the comments as he launched a £20 million fund to help teach Muslim women English which he claimed could also help prevent segregation in certain communities.
The Prime Minister said it was not acceptable that women in parts of the UK were not allowed to leave their homes without a male relative and faced sex-segregated school governors meetings.
