Manchester cricket club loses licence after weapons seized during police raid

A Manchester cricket club has lost its licence after a police raid during which weapons were seized.
Police discovered a samurai sword, an axe and knuckledusters at the Burnage Cricket Club on Mauldeth Road on Friday (August 5).
A dog, believed to be a banned breed, was also seized.
A hearing last Wednesday (August 31) saw the club have its licence to serve alcohol revoked.
Three men were arrested during the raid, two of whom have since been charged.
18 year old James Todd, of Heathside Road was charged with possession of cannabis and has been remanded in custody on a separate matter for other offences.
Michael Mcmahon, who's 32 and of Elsa Road, Manchester was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
The owner of the dog is set for a court hearing to determine whether it can be returned.
