Manchester is a cannabis capital

Police are smoking out more cannabis growers in Greater Manchester than almost any other force in England

Statistics analysed by insurer Direct Line for Business showed more than 41-thousand plants were recovered by GMP in 2014/15 - that's up by 24% on last year.

The figure gives Greater Manchester the second highest volume of marijuana plants confiscated behind the West Midlands.

Nick Breton, head of Direct Line for Business, said: For landlords, engaging in a tenancy agreement with a tenant always requires a certain amount of trust that they will not cause significant damage to the property.

However, as this analysis shows, cannabis farming is still a big problem in England and Wales and can have severe repercussions for landlords.''
