Man left with serious injuries after Wigan stabbing

Detectives say enquiries are ongoing

Police in Wigan have launched an investigation after a stabbing which left a man with what are believed to be serious injuries.

Officers were called to Victoria Road, Platt Bridge at around 05:26AM this morning. The man, who's in his 40s, was taken to hospital.

No one has been arrested, and enquiries are ongoing.

A statement from Greater Manchester Police says:

"At around 5.26am this morning (6 May 2021) police were called to a report of a stabbing on Victoria Road, Platt Bridge.

"Officers attended and a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with believed to be serious injuries.

"No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact DS 13689 of Wigan CID on 0161 856 7251 or 101, quoting incident number 416 of the 5th May.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
