A man's been stabbed to death in Rochdale.

A man's been stabbed to death in Rochdale.

The 22-year-old was stabbed in the stomach on Kellett Street at about 4 o'clock this morning (Friday 4th November 2016).

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jones of GMP’s Major Incident Team said:

“First and foremost I would like to offer my deepest condolences to this man’s loved ones, who we are currently working to provide with support from specially trained officers.

“I know anytime an incident like this occurs it would undoubtedly cause concern in the community but I would like to assure the public that we have launched a full investigation.

“We currently have a man in custody in connection with this but our enquiries are continuing and I would ask that anybody with information they think may assist us, please contact the police.”
