Man shot in chest in Little Hulton area of Salford
Victim no longer in critical condition.
A man who was shot in the chest in Salford is no longer in a critical condition.
The 33-year-old victim was shot just before 9.30 on Saturday on Mill Hill in Little Hulton.
He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest and remains in a stable condition.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone in the area at the time or anyone with information to come forward.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 39-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Detective Superintendent Emily Higham said: “An investigation into this incident has been launched but I would like to stress that enquiries are at a very early stage.
“We have dedicated extra patrols to Salford to try and prevent further incidents from taking place and also offer reassurance to the community that incidents like this will not be tolerated.
“I would urge the local community to come forward if they saw or heard anything in their area at the time of the incidents to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
