A man has died after he was hit by a car on the M60.

A man has died after he was hit by a car on the M60.

It happened near junction 12 for the M602 at about 20:35 last night (Thursday 22nd December 2016).

Police say the 37-year-old was walking around the carriageway when he was hit by a Ford Fiesta. Police Constable Phil Turley of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with the family of the man at this difficult time and we have specially trained officers offering them support.

“We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish what happened and I am appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or who saw the man on the motorway before the collision, to come forward.”

“Even if you think you might have only the smallest of details, I would still urge you to call us as it could make a huge difference to our investigation.”
