Man jailed for stabbing ex-partner's new love interest to death in Manchester.
Ryan Donnellan has been sentenced to life in prison.
A man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new love interest to death in a jealous rage in Manchester has been jailed for 25 years.
Ryan Donnellan stabbed Steven Chadwick on Carslake Road on 29th August 2016.
Officers attended and found 30-year-old Chadwick with stab wounds to his stomach, legs and arm. He was taken to hospital but sadly died four days later.
Donnellan had been to the home of his former partner for a pre-arranged meeting.
Having learned that his ex-partner had begun a friendship with Steven Chadwick, Donnellan demanded to speak to Steven face to face.
When Steven Chadwick arrived, Donnellan who had armed himself with a knife approached him in the street and stabbed him several times in the abdomen, legs and arm.
Senior Investigating Officer Duncan Thorpe, said: "First of all my thoughts are with Steven's family who have had to go through the horror of his death all over again during this trial.
"Donnellan could not stand the thought that his ex-partner had moved on so he took the weapon from the kitchen, arranged to meet Steven outside the house, before taking his life in a jealous rage.
"This sentence will never bring Steven back but I'm glad we've finally got his family the justice they deserve."
Paying tribute to him, his family said: "Steven was a loving son, a caring brother and a fantastic uncle to his nieces, nephews and great niece.
"We will miss him with all our heart and he will never be forgotten by all that knew and loved him.
"We want to thank those that have sent messages and kind words and ask that at this sad time we can be left to grieve the loss of our wonderful boy."
