Man jailed for abusing a 12 year-old girl
A man has been jailed after he sexually abused a girl in Wythenshawe.
23 year old Moses Pande of Prinknash Road in Manchester pleaded guilty of six counts of sexual abuse at an earlier hearing.
Today, he was sentenced to eight years in prison and will be issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order at Manchester Crown Square.
Between September 2014 and March 2015 Pande repeatedly sexually abused a girl, who was 12-years-old when the abuse started.
Detective Constable Joanna Gordon of GMP's Child Protection Unit said:
"The victim was terrified and I commend her bravery in speaking to us about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Pande.
"A young girl has been robbed of her childhood and has had to go through the trauma of giving evidence, but she has been incredibly brave and helped to bring Pande to justice.
"I hope that now he is behind bars, she can start to rebuild her life."
