19-year-old man dies after bike crashes into pub wall

It happened in Leigh in the early hours of Saturday morning

A 19-year-old man has died after his motorbike ploughed into the wall of a pub in Wigan.

Police were called to Monty's pub in Chape Street just before 2am on Saturday morning (19 March).

The rider of the bike died at the scene, and his family are now being supported by specialist officers.

Greater Manchester Police said no arrests had been made, and no other vehicles are thought to have been involved in the crash.

In a statement, the force said: "investigators are keen for any witnesses or anyone who may have recorded dash-cam footage in the area in the early hours of today to contact us with any information they may have."
