Man charged with murder of 24-year-old girl in Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester Police have charged a man with murder after a woman in her twenties was found dead at an address in Atherton.

Police were called to the address on Oxford Road, Atherton at 11.40am on Wednesday 9th October, responding to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman.

Despite the best efforts of the medics, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The 24-year-old’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

52-year-old Nadeem Muhammed Begum of Oxford Road, Atherton has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bolton Crown Court on 14th November.
