Man charged with attempted murder of woman in Wigan

A 54 year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Wigan.
Wayne Ahearne of Scot Lane, Wigan has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Crown Court (Crown Square) on Monday 12 April.
At around 2:05pm on Saturday 13 March, police were called to Scot Lane, to reports that a woman had been assaulted.
The 45 year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and is in a stable condition.
