Man charged and another arrested following shooting in Manchester

Police launched an attempted murder investigation earlier this week

Detectives conducting an attempted murder investigation in Manchester have charged one man and arrested a second.

At around 3pm on Thursday 21 December 2023, shots were fired on Stockport Road, Ardwick.

Anthony Leigh, aged 23, of Plymouth Grove, Manchester, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a bladed article.

Officers carried out two warrants on Saturday 23 December at addresses in Ardwick and Middleton, and a man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning.
