A man's been carjacked at knifepoint in Salford.

The 64-year-old was parking his Rover 75 on Byrom Street at about 5:20am on Friday 16th December 2016.

Two men held a knife to his face, before dragging the victim out of the car and driving off.

The vehicle was later found abaoned on Woodens Avenue in Ordsall. Detective Sergeant Wendy Grace of GMP’s Salford borough said:

“This was a thuggish robbery which left an unsuspecting man absolutely terrified and with serious injuries to his hands. “Although it happened quite early in the morning, it would have been rather a loud disturbance so it may have been seen by people in the nearby area. “We are appealing for anybody with information, no matter how big or small, to please contact police.” Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 335 of 16/12/16, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
