Two black Labradors that were stolen from outside an M&S in Nantwich, Cheshire have been found and safely returned to their owners.

A huge social media campaign to find Denzel and Welly was set up by the owners - and went viral across the country.

Three people have now been charged in connection with the thefts.

A 37-year old man, a 28-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy were arrested at an address in Metcalfe Road, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, on the morning of Tuesday 30 March.

They have all since been charged with theft.

The charge relates to the theft of two black Labradors from outside a Marks & Spencer store in Beam Street, Nantwich.

The dogs, which were stolen shortly after 6pm on Saturday 27 March, have been recovered from the Tunstall area of Stoke-on-Trent and reunited with their owners.

Doherty, of McKinley Street, Tunstall; Docherty, of Metcalfe Road, Tunstall; and the 14-year-old boy have all been remanded in custody.

They are all set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 31 March.

The owners, Charlotte and Dale, say they are "lost for words at the power of social media" and have thanked Cheshire Police for their work.
