Liam Leads Tributes To The 5th Beatle
Manchester rocker Liam Gallagher is leading the tributes to pop producing legend Sir George Martin who has died
The 90 year old has been described as visionary'' and
a musical genius'' as tributes flooded in following his death.
Beatle Ringo Starr wrote on Twitter: God bless George Martin peace and love to Judy and his family love Ringo and Barbara. George will be missed.'' Alongside a picture of Sir George with the Fab Four he added:
Thank you for all your love and kindness George peace and love.''
Liam Gallagher wrote simply: Sir George Martin RIP LG x'' Sir George produced Elton John's new version of Candle In The Wind to honour the late Princess Diana. It became one of the best selling singles of all time.
In a lifetime of music George Martin was responsible for 30 No. 1 singles in the UK and 23 in the US - going on to win Grammy awards and an Oscar.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
