Key 103 reporter turns firefighter

Gender equality's back in the spotlight as campaigners call for women to be treated the same as men at work.

It's International Women's Day and businesses are being urged to help end sex discrimination.

Greater Manchester Fire Service is supporting the calls and invited KEY103 newsreader Rebecca Barratt along to their training HQ to swap her headphones for a hose and experience a day in the life of a female firefighter.

This worldwide event champions women’s achievements, from the political to the social, while calling for gender equality. The theme of the IWD campaign this year is #BeBoldForChange.
